Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions, answered directly.

What is included in every Halo ITSM licence?
Every Halo ITSM licence includes the complete platform: all ITSM modules, all Enterprise Service Management workflows for HR, Facilities, Finance and more, all AI capabilities, all 250+ native integrations, Project Management, Self-Service Portal, CMDB, IT Asset Management, Halo Organisations for multi-tenancy, and the Service Automation Framework. There are no per-module fees, no AI surcharges, and no integration licensing costs — one price covers everything.
Is Halo AI included in the licence or charged as an add-on?
AI is included in every Halo ITSM licence at no extra cost. Capabilities include automatic ticket classification and categorisation, smart incident summarisation, AI-powered knowledge article creation and discovery, a virtual agent for self-service deflection, and predictive analytics across service desk performance. Halo ITSM AI was recognised in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI in IT Service Management — as a standard licence feature, not a premium tier.
How many native integrations does Halo support?
Halo supports 250+ native integrations, all built and maintained by Halo's own engineering team. These cover Microsoft 365, Teams, Azure Active Directory and Entra ID, Intune, Okta, DevOps toolchains, HR platforms, monitoring and alerting tools, and more. Unlike platforms that charge per integration or rely on third-party connectors, every Halo integration is included in the licence and updated with every platform release.
Can Halo be deployed on-premises?
Yes. Halo supports both cloud and on-premises deployment. Cloud deployments run on AWS infrastructure with UK-region data residency as standard. On-premises deployments run on your own infrastructure and are supported for organisations in regulated industries, public sector, or with specific data sovereignty requirements. This is a meaningful differentiator from ServiceNow, which is cloud-only with very limited on-premises capability.
How often does Halo release platform updates?
Halo releases platform updates every two weeks. Every customer receives every update as part of their licence — there are no version tiers, no upgrade projects, and no version fatigue. For customers on Halo's cloud infrastructure, updates are applied automatically during maintenance windows. This means every Halo customer is always running the most current version of the platform without planning or funding separate upgrade cycles.
