Stock FAQ

HaloPSA stock and asset management — answered directly.

What assets can HaloPSA track?
HaloPSA can track any asset you manage for clients: hardware (laptops, servers, printers), software licences, warranties, and support contracts. Each asset has a full history of changes and linked tickets.
How does stock management link to billing?
Assets in HaloPSA can be linked directly to client contracts. When a device is added to a client's record, it can be included in their billing schedule automatically — per-device pricing is calculated and invoiced without manual steps.
Does HaloPSA include warranty and licence expiry alerts?
Yes. HaloPSA fires alerts ahead of warranty and licence expiry dates — giving you time to approach clients about renewals before the contract lapses. This turns expiry management into a revenue conversation.
Can Allied ESM help set up our asset register in HaloPSA?
Yes. Allied ESM can help you build an asset register in HaloPSA from scratch, or import from an existing CMDB or spreadsheet. Asset and stock configuration is included in every standard implementation.
Can HaloPSA track serialised and non-serialised stock separately?
Yes. HaloPSA distinguishes between serialised items — tracked individually by serial number, such as laptops, servers, and phones — and non-serialised stock tracked by quantity, such as cables, consumables, and licence packs. Serialised items each have their own asset record with a full change history. Non-serialised stock is tracked by quantity on hand, quantity allocated, and reorder point. Both can be linked to client contracts and invoiced automatically.
Can stock items be dispatched and invoiced directly from a ticket?
Yes. When an engineer resolves a ticket that requires a part or product, they can allocate stock items from within the ticket. HaloPSA deducts the quantity from stock, attaches the item to the client's billing record, and includes it on the next invoice run — without leaving the ticket. This closes the gap between parts used and parts billed, which for many MSPs is a significant source of unbilled revenue.
